UYLA Passes Vote Of Confidence On Gov Oborevwori, As Nikoro Celebrates Birthday, Appointment

 

The Urhobo Youth Leaders Association, UYLA, an umbrella body of all Urhobo youth leaders in all Urhobo Kingdoms, has passed a vote of confidence on the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for his infrastructural development across the nooks and crannies of the state without limitations.

The vote of Confidence on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was unanimously passed during the general assembly meeting of UYLA hosted by Chief Ernest Nikoro, JP, as part of activities to mark his birthday and his recent appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Security by the state Governor, at Effurun GRA, Uvwie Local Government area of Delta State.

Addressing the Pointer, President of UYLA, worldwide, Olorogun Samuel Oghotomo, JP, said, “We are here to celebrate with Chief Ernest Nikoro JP, a bonafide member of the Association on the occasion of his birthday and his appointment as SSA on Security.

“This day coincide with our general assembly day of meeting where we deliberate on how to join hands with the working Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to promote his MORE Agenda that has yielded positive results in the state and after which we joined the celebrant on his golden birthday

According to Olorogun Oghotomo, “UYLA aims is to speak, represent and defend the Urhobo nation, politically, nationally, internationally and a complementary the mouth piece of Upu to the people of Urhobo in all spheres.

“Whatever affects Urhobo, affects this association and as young leaders, it is our responsibility to ensure that Urhobo is in the right place and position in terms of development.

“For nearly two years now, since Governor Oborevwori took the mantle of leadership he has done well in terms of infrastructural developments, human capital developments, appointments, peace and many other progressive policies such that leaders of major opposition in the state has fallen in love with his performances have endorsed him as a concencus candidate for 2027 elections for a second term in office because of his performances and transformations that has gone beyond expectation.

On his part, Chief Ernest Nikoro, the birthday celebrant and host said, “I want to appreciate God for making it possible for me to be alive to celebrate my golden jubilee with my family and association, it’s one of the most happiest days in my life.

“I want to use this golden jubilee of mine to emphasized that Governor Sheriff has done well not just because of giving me appointment but his infrastructural development and the peace the state is enjoying has proved even those people opposed to governorship in 2023 wrong.

“As we speak investors have started coming back to Delta State because of the peace the state is enjoying and for investors to come, it means employment and other business opportunities have been given birth to and for that I am grateful.”

On the vote of confidence on Governor Sheriff, UYLA revealed that his leadership and impressive performance about two years with notable projects formed the decisions

“The construction of three flyovers, pedestrian bridges in Effurun and Warri metropolis, aiming to ease traffic congestion and boost commercial activities.

“The establishment of a new College of Health Technology at Ovrode, Isoko North, and a College of Health Sciences at Southern Delta University, Ozoro, to enhance healthcare education and services and over 317 ongoing road projects
amosgst others.”

The motion for the vote of confidence on Oborevwori was moved by Olorogun (Dr) Augustine Atiti and seconded by Chief Ernest Nikoro (JP) on Friday, April 11, 2025 and the motion was put into vote by Olorogun Samuel Oghotomo (JP), put the motion for to a voice vote, and it was unanimously endorsed by the members.
