Uvwie Council Boss Distributes Delta State Government Palliatives To Wards

 

Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon. Ramson Tega Onoyake in collaboration with other political leaders on Saturday distributed palliative items sent by the Delta State Government to the 10 wards in the Local Government Area.

Addressing journalists at the Council Secretariat during the distribution of 400 bags of 50kg rice and 200 bags of 100kg beans, advised the recipients to distribute the items to the less privileges and vulnerable in their various wards as they are not meant for the rich and privilege in the society.

He explained: “there are 10 federal wards in Uvwie Local Government Area, hence each ward received 40 bags of rice and 20 bags of beans and there are monitoring teams in each ward that ensured even distribution of the items”.

Onoyake stressed that the distribution cuts across party divides as the dreaded coronavirus does not recognize whether you are PDP, APC, APGA or any other parties.

“As far as you are a Deltans, this Covid-19 is affecting everybody so we did our best to share the items to majority of the less privileges and vulnerable in the wards.

Other leaders who were present during the distribution, Rt. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq., Special Adviser to the governor on DESOPADEC Matters, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, Deputy Chief Whip, DTHA, Engr. Matthew Tsekiri, Commissioner for Science and Technology and others present, commended the state governor for the palliative items.

They further expressed appreciation to the state government for all the proactive steps and measures put in place to keep Delta safe from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The leaders urged the people of Uvwie in their related speeches to continue to obey the precautionary measures recommended by experts and the state government, assuring them that the trying times would soon be over.
