Olorogun Peter Akpofure the Otota of the Great Ughelli Kingdom has urged political office holders who are sons and daughters to use their offices and connections to attract development to the land.
The mouth piece of the Great Ughelli Kingdom made this statement recently during the final burial rites of Late Pa. Engr. James Okpako Rangers Edevbie at Afiesere Community in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.
He seized the opportunity to thank and commend His Excellency, Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa the Executive Governor of Delta State for finding son’s and daughter’s of Ughelli North Local Government Area worthy to serve in his administration.
He also called on non-indigenes and corporate bodies to join hands with the government to develop the land.
He maintained that government alone cannot do everything, “as individuals, we have a role to play in developing our land, so therefore let us collectively come out and contribute our quota to make Ughelli North great” Akpofure asserted.
He encouraged political appointees from the area to help in maintaining peace, order and come up with ideas that will develop the society and the people. “Okowa cannot reach out to everybody in terms of development and empowerment, hence he appointed SSA’s, SA’s in thousands to help develop and empower the people on his behalf.”
