Leaders and members of the Federated Movement Of Urhobo Youth Leaders led by Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon, JP, has congratulated Rt. Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, representing Ughelli South, Ughelli North and Udu Federal Constituency, Senator Joel Onowakpor representing Delta South Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone of Delta Central and Hon. Egbetema representing Udu State constituency and all other APC leaders for their successes in the 2023 elections tribunal which upheld their well deserved victories.
Addressing journalists moment after the declaration of Rt. Hon. Waive’s victory, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon, JP, said if not for the conscienceless nature of our people, there wouldn’t have been need for going to tribunal because the masses massively voted for all APC candidates during the elections.
He noted that one of the mandate of the Federated Movement Of Urhobo Youth Leaders is to defend the anything good and as well work to sincerely to actualized the better of Urhobo nation in particular and for the Delta State and Nigeria in general.
The Court of Appeal, Lagos Division had earlier Wednesday, November 1, 2023 upheld the victory of Rt. Hon. Rev. Francis Waive, the member representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives in a judgment led by Justice Olubunmi Oyewole.
It would be recall that the State House of Assembly and National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, had sacked Waive over his academic records and declared the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), candidate, Solomon Awhinawhi, winner of the election in a judgment delivered on September 11th 2023.
However, the Appeal Court had set aside the judgment of the tribunal and upheld the victory of Waive at the poll.
In a joyful mood of victory and joy, Prince Jifas Ogbon and members of the group, maintained that the quality of those featured by the APC for Delta Central, Delta South and Ughelli North, South and Udu Federal Constituency were too powerful for the opposition to compete.
“They are not just politicians, but they are people with high repute of integrity, honesty and hard work.
“Do you know they are not just politicians, but they are all successful, contented and people of character and knowledge.”
The Federated Movement Of Urhobo Youth Leaders asserted that, Rev. Francis Waive, Sen. Ede Dafinone and Sen. Joel Onowakpor are people that once anyone make mention of their names anywhere outside the shores of the country, you will see and hear foreigners saying, I know him or know them, they are good men of class and integrity. Well experienced, honest, sincere and representing their various constituents positively well.
The group said; the representation of Hon. Waive in the past tenure and years attracted unimaginable development both human, capital and infrastructure to the constituency just like the immediate past deputy senate president who attracted to Delta, not only Delta Central, but all, numerous empowerments and development.
The group congratulated the Sen. Dafinone, Sen. Onowakpor, Hon. Waive and Hon. Egbetema and urged them to carry every youth irrespective of their political affiliations in order to develop not only the people but the areas they represented.
