Travelers on the Ughelli north axis of the East West road have continued to lament the incessant robbery and kidnapping ongoing along the Ogor Evwreni axis of the road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was learned that early morning travellers, were allegedly robbed and some kidnapped between Thursday to Sunday morning last week.
According to a source who narrowly escaped being robbed and kidnapped, “The young men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen barricaded the road while we were traveling to Bayelsa state on Friday early morning.
“It took the grace of God that we escaped from them but the other vehicle and passenger us behind us were not lucky and the experience is such a terrible thing.
We saw a woman that was half naked by the road side just before Evwreni community and I thought she must have been robbed and killed before we get to the place.”
Another source currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Ughelli revealed that one of the victims that escaped from the den of the kidnappers disclosed that, at the thick forest, they saw human bodies being buried leaving their heads alive.
“When we were asked to sleep with our face down, I summoned the courage ran away from, haven seen people whose entire body were being buried leaving their heads only on the ground.
“They fired several guns towards me and I was not ready to stop because if I do I will be dead,they finished my back with bullets but am grateful to have escape alive.”
