Ahead of the commencement of the Edo State governorship election, the Nigerian Police on election duty have arrested suspected political thugs with of guns and ammunition. The arrest was made known by the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement on September 21, 2024. Inspector General of Police,IGP, Kayode Egbetokun PhD, has urged officers alleging extortion for promotion to report such malfeasance directly to him.
