School Proprietor Kidnapped in Ughelli

GUNMEN suspected to be kidnappers, have abducted the proprietor of a Kogbodi International Schools, Ughelli, Delta State, Mr. Patrick Kogbodi.

The victim, according to sources was abducted by the hoodlums along Aroh Road, Ughelli, was on his way to church for an early morning catholic service when he was waylaid and whisked away to an unknown location by his assailants.

Another source held that before his abduction, he had just celebrated his 70th birthday on the previous day, (Saturday).

Though efforts to speak with the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya were fruitless, a security source at the Ughelli Police Area Command confirmed the incident when contacted.

The source who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the hoodlums abandoned the car of the victim which is currently at the Ughelli ‘A’ Division police station.

Giving details of the incident, the source said: “The incident occurred at about 7:40a.m while the victim was heading to church for the early morning service at his church which is a Catholic Church.

“We were able to recover his car which was abandoned by the hoodlums and two empty gun shells at the scene of the incident while efforts are currently on for the safe release of the victim as well as subsequent arrest of the hoodlums.”

Since his abduction, no contact has been made by his abductors to demand for a ransom. It was gathered by this medium.
