A Non-Governmental organization, RETECH foundation and it’s co-founder EDP, has commissioned solar system, water systems, information communication centers equiped modern computers and projectors in four schools located in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The foundation commissioned the 27.6 watts solar installations, ICT rooms fully furnished with equipped with modern computers and projectors, latest gadgets as well as solar powered water projects at the schools which included Delta Secondary School, Dore Numa College, Ogedegbe Primary School and Essi College school 1.
Speaking during the commissioning of the facilities, the Chair and Founder, RETECH Foundation, Ronye Egborge, said: “RETECH Foundation and our co-funders, EDP, have provided access to electricity, water and ICT facilities to your schools to ensure improved health and quality of your education.
“Make good use of these resources and we know our intervention will make your dreams of becoming STEM specialist much closer to reality.”
He lauded the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and the schools for providing the enabling environment for the foundation to intervene in the schools.
“We will do more. Yes, we have started, but there is a lot more still to be done” he said, assuring that “we will not rest until we continue to do as much as we can for the students.”
Egborge advised the students to focus on their studies, stressing the need to maintain the facilities to encourage the foundation to do more.
On her part, the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu represented by Mrs. Dora Asini, commended Retech foundation and EDP for the laudable projects in the various schools.
She said, “These solar electricity projects, will greatly enhance positive teaching and learning”, appealing to the staff and students of the schools to maintain and protect the facilities to attract more development to the schools.
In their separate remarks, the Principals of the schools expressed gratitude to Retech Foundation and EDP for the gesture.

The Principal, Delta Secondary School, Warri, Mrs. Ekpoko Osan said,”I want to highly appreciate the Management of Retech Foundation for the Solar energy installed in the school which the Hon. Commissioner is commissioning today. We deeply appreciate this laudable gesture that have brought succour to the school as it will go a very long way in creating peace amongst the students.’
On his part, principal of Dore Numa College, Warri, Mr. Samson Egheneji said,”it is with immense joy and gratitude as we mark this significant milestone in the history of Dore Numa College, Warri for the official commissioning of our ICT and Solar Power systems which was made possible through the visionary leadership and commitment of Retech Foundation and EDP.
“I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to Retech Foundation (EDP) for prioritizing education with technological advancement.
“Your unwavering dedication to the development of schools in our region is a testament to your belief in the transformative power of education.”
According to Mr. Egheneji,”This initiative will not only enhance the learning environment at Dore Numa College but will also empower our students to compete on a global stage.
“With the ICT system, our students can now access a wealth of knowledge and digital resources that were previously out of reach.
“Additionally, the installation of the solar power system is a game changer. It ensures a reliable energy supply for our ICT facilities and reduces dependence on non-renewable energy sources. This aligns perfectly with global efforts towards sustainability and environmental responsibility.”
The Principal of Essi College,I, Warri, Mr. Erhimedafe Michael said, “Retech Foundation had enabled the school to migrate from traditional method of teaching and learning to electronic.
“Retech has made our dream come true as the learning interest of our students have been rekindled.”
