Prof Ophori Empowers Artisans, Petty Traders With Equipments And Cash In Delta

IN his quest and bid to have a better community and society void of unrest and restiveness, a University of Benin Don, Prof Endurance Ophori has empowered artisans with tool and petty traders with cash in Edjekota-Ogor community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Items presented to beneficiaries of at the event held his country home include, set of sewing machine, weaving machine, cordless clippers, and hair dryers while 5 petty traders was empowered with cash grant.
This just as Prof Patrick Muoboghare offers scholarship and provision of equipments to any students from the community that would want to embarked on skill acquisition program in the state.
Speaking at the presentation, Professor Endurance Ophori said, “Biblically God said we should assist and love our neighbors as yourself and I am who I am today by the glory of God and he has given me and my family much.
“And I decided to give back to the less privileged in my village in tandem with the agenda of the Delta state Governor, RT Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and in compliance with his More Agenda and I believe that what we have given out today will no doubt improve the less privileged in this community.
“I am giving out this items to the very less privileged persons not because I have enough but to improve their business and I am going to monitor their improvements as they grow
“They should not dare to sell whatever thing the has been given to them or probably be tempted due to the economy to go and sell them because if we find out, we will ensure they refund them.
“We are saying this because after either at the state or federal level, beneficiaries are empowered with tools and and equipments some the items are sold off by same beneficiaries which is not ideal to be heard.
“This is a small community and I will not accept it after giving out a complete set sewing machine, weaving machine, cordless clippers and other items and the end of the day they will be sold.
“The policy of the Delta State Governor is to empower the less privileged and any body empowered has been given a multiplier effect and they should use them to make more money and buy more to assist others.”
“I want to appeal to our people to do same thing and support me just the way Professor Muoboghare had supported me by giving out scholarships provide equipment to any one that would want to acquire skill in any institution in the country.
On him joining the Peoples Democratic Party, Ophori, an erudite scholar and professor of Uniben said, “I did not just decided to join the party just yesterday but I have monitored and listened in the past and with the present governor ,I know that Delta State will be better with his More Agenda.
“I made the right choice and I am going to the best I am going to do in the PDP in line with the governor’s more agenda and just like I have said, the only person that would not work or vote for the PDP is that person that is not born of a woman.”
Also on his part, Mr Christopher Ophori, has volunteered to enroll 10 persons for free from the community into the Delta State Contributory Health Commission for access to free health care services.
“Our people need this health services and because they are not financially buoyant, they find it difficult to access quality health services but with this little contribution of mine, I believed the ten lucky persons would have sigh of relief.”
Commending the kind gesture of Prof Endurance Anthony Ophori, the Supervisory Councilor for Works and Infrastructure, Ughelli North, Engr Eric Osiobe said, What has just happened today is a testament to the fact that our brother is towing the line of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori agenda of giving the property more and this mean a lot to them.
“Prof Endurance Anthony Ophori has just boosted and  improved the local economy in this area by empowering petty traders and artisans and it is my appeal for them to make use of the items given out.
“As a petty trader, you have been given cash grant to boost your business and as an artisan you have been given equipment to focus more on your profession and improve productivity in your area of specialization.”
