THE Lawmaker representing Burutu Federal Constituency, at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi has condemned the recent killing of two persons in the Ojobo community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that two persons, one Adidas and other person whose identity could not be ascertained were killed during an election to different positions in the community.
Pondi in a statement while grieving over the sad incident which occurred on May 25, 2023, in the community.
According to him, “The killing of innocent residents shouldn’t have been recorded in the Ojobo community with the presence of high-ranking politicians, judiciary members and top past and serving security officials.
The lawmaker held that the Ojobo community is too refined, exposed, brave and learned to have experienced annual election violence and killings of brothers over mere Amayanabo (Highness) or community chairmen election.
“I commiserates with the families of victims of the election violence in the community, that he shared their grief and trying moments.
The family members should be strong and find solace in God, adding he would also join hands to see that the perpetrators be brought to book.
“The leadership of the community to come together and ensure no further election violence and killing in the community as it is disgusting and disappointing.”
