Police Officers attached to Agbarho Division, along the East/ West road, on Tuesday repel an alleged attempt attack on the division, by suspected gunmen in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state.
It was gathered that the unidentified hoodlums were shooting sporadically towards the police station at about 8:pm on that faithful day and return of gun shot by the police scared them away.
When contacted, The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright said, “False pls”.
But a senior security source from the Delta State Police Command who confirmed the incident on anonymous condition said, “It is true, some hoodlums attempted to attack the station and our men on guard return fire and they ran away.
“Black spots have been raided and those arrested during the raid are being investigated to unravel the root cause of the incident.”
“Those arrested are currently being detained at the Ughelli Area Command.
“The police will not leave any stone unturned and we are appealing to the general public to join hands with the Nigeria police force to combat crime.”
