The People’s Progressive Parliament (PPP) recently sworn-in new Executive Officers at their national secretariat in Ughelli, Delta State.
The new executive officers were charged to take the position as an opportunity to serve humanity so as to enable the group contributes their quota towards nation building.
The group president Comr. Onorhere Matthew in his welcome address said “on behalf of myself and the members of the Elite group, we cordially come you all to yet another historic event of the People’s Progressive Parliament. On 27th of January this year the first set of officials were sworn-in.
Today, in order to consolidate our structure as an organization we are swearing in new set of executive officials for proper and effective running of the organization.
No doubt, we have come a long way despite internal and external challenges, we have been able to overcome and moving forward to another level.”
Among those that were sworn in were: Obaro Jephtah, youth co-ordinator; Christian Uzor, provost; Inaba Samuel, publicity secretary; Senator Emanuwa, warfare officer; Omoroh Pius, organizing officer; Oboba Joy, youth secretary; Alex Ukoh, assistant financial secretary and Pastor Lucky Umukoroma, chaplain.
The group were advice to shun personal interest when deciding the candidate to work for in the forthcoming elections as it could lead to disunity which could work against the aim of the group.
According to a prominent PDP Chieftain who was present at the event, Chief Samuel Oboramahwoyere “It’s a good thing that you people started but my advice is that you people should not allow politics to disintegrate this group because when members have two different candidates as a result of personal interest, it could lead to disunity hence you people should shun politics of personal interest.”
He further stated that the group should look beyond politics by using the platform to seek redress of the grievous marginalization in the oil and gas sector as we have been deprived over the years.
