The People’s Progressive parliament on Sunday held its annual end of the year meeting at the group secretariat in Ughelli north L.G.A Delta State.
The meeting witnessed the presents of other socio political pressure group under the People Democratic Party (PDP) such as Team Ibori for Okowa; Team Tete for Okowa; Grassroot Political Mobilization for Good Governance (GPM) and PDP Social Media Team (PUNSMET).
In his opening remark the indomitable president of the group, Comr. Matthew Onorhere thank the almighty God for mercy and protection of the group in the last four years of its existence despite various challenges as the group continue to excel as a formidable group under the People Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the group president, “indeed we have just come this far and have recorded some outstanding achievements that should be noted
Below are some of our achievements as a group:
* Alliance with bigger socio political group under PDP such as Team Ibori for Okowa
* Attended several flagoff and rallies of the PDP
* Endorsement of all PDP candidates
* Cordinator Atiku Support group Ughelli North
* Registration of the group through the office of the political adviser to the Governor in Asaba
* The establishment of a multipurpose cooperative society to assist and empower its members
* Opening of an account with macrod micro finance bank
* Participation of group members in the on going party verification and INEC continuous voters registration
* Appointment of the group president as party exco at the unit level in ward 2/6 Ughelli North LGA”.
He also commended leaders of the party who in no measure as contributed to the growth and stability of the group amongst whom are the Ughelli North LGA boss, Hon. (chief) Godwin Adode JP; Hon. Edmond Guana, SSA to the Governor on youth development and state cordinator Team Ibori for Okowa; Hon. (chief) Sammy, SSA to the Governor on political matters for his fatherly advice; Hon. Ufuoma Olotu, councillor representing ward 4/13 DISEC ward and Amb. Comr. Emmanuel Kporarhor, special adviser to the Ughelli north LGA Chairman on political matters.
While admonishing the group, Comr. Shadrack Ofiavwe, Senior media aid to the chief of staff government house and Ughelli north cordinator Team Ibori for Okowa praised the group for being together for the past four years and told them that politics a game of patience.
Those present in the meeting were poltical adviser to the Ughelli north LGA boss, Amb. Comr. Emmanuel Kporarhor; PUNSMET secretary, Comr. Osademe; Chairman of GPM, Comr. Ochuko Erhiakpore; other important dignitaries, PPP executives and members.
