Otovwodo Community Lauds Gov Oborevwori Over Ring Road, Drainage Construction

THE president general of Otovwodo community, Engr. Ovigue Solomon Ugbarugba, has commended the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for reviving economic activities with the construction of ring road in the community.

 

Engr. Ugbarugba gave this commendation at the annual general meeting of Otovwodo community, to mark his administration one year in office at the community town hall in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

He said, “As a community, we want to use this medium to commend the state governor,Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for bringing back the economic life of our community and ameliorating the traffic at the Otovwodo junction.

 

“It is is interesting to state here that our community was the first to benefit from the More Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori because after his swearing in, I believed the Uduere, Okogbe, Stadium ring road was the first project he may have awarded and the job is currently ongoing smoothly

“Before now, we contributed money to fill the bad spots,yet it was not remedied property and the governor seemed it fit that the suffering was much and enough and the work began barely three months after he was sworn in on May 29, 2023.

 

 

According to him, “Barely three months after Governor Oborevwori was sworn in, on May 29, last year, in the month of August, the governor started the work of the ring road and it ameliorated the suffering of the traffic jam at Otovwodo junction and the motor park.

 

“That junction is very strategic because it leads to Port Harcourt, Effurun, Asaba and whenever there is a traffic jam, it very difficult for road users, but since the ongoing construction, the traffic congestion has greatly reduced and the governor deserved our applaud.

 

 

Speaking further on his administration achievement Engr. Ugbarugba disclosed that he and his executive members are in touch with the Delta government for the upgrade of the community healthcare center and the ministry of health has visited.

 

“We have participated activity in monitoring the quality of the ongoing Uduere street, Okogbe, Stadium to Agbarha junction ring road.”

 

On education, he did disclosed that, Otovwodo recently engaged four graduate teachers on Geography, CRS and English language through the education committee and they are currently at Otovwodo Grammar school.

 

“We want the state government, through the ministry of education to automatically employed these four teachers as staff.

 

“Our administration has in all engaged 23 persons and they are currently on monthly pay from the little income including security to guard the Otovwodo Grammar school that has no perimeter fence.

 

 

“We want to use this medium to appeal to the chairman of Ughelli North council to help in building a befitting market for our traders in other for them ont to be trading on roadside.

 

“As we celebrate our achievements within the last one year of our administration, we recognize there are more Works to be done and I urge all community members to participate, volunteer, support and engage with our programs.”

During the event the community gave award of selfless service to individuals who have played supportive roles.
