The president general and executive of Otovwodo-Ughelli community, Pastor Solomon Ovigue Ugbarugba has ban the sales of hard drugs and indiscriminate dumping of waste disposal on drainages and along road side in the community.
He made this known while inaugurating nine (9) substantive committees in his administration for effective and quality leadership in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The committees are, Education, Environment, Health, Civil Society /Human Rights, Revenue, Security, Task Force, Sports and Constitutional committee respectively
This is just as the President General has prohibited the sales of hard drugs and Indiscriminate dumping of waste disposal on drainages.
Education Committee is headed by Dr. Victor Omoraka and Mr Osawhere Aghogho, Secretary, Revenue is led by Pastor Solomon Ovigue Ugbarugba and Barr. Oberhirhi Adeda, Secretary, Environmental Committee chair by Mr Ogbevire Udjor and Comrade Obus Adeda as Secretary, eve Security Committee is having Hon. Victor Okpowhoro as Chairman and Mr Difference Umudi Secretary respectively.
Other committee and their heads are, Civil Society/Human Rights Committee, Mr Luis Ishokare as Chairman and Barr. M. S. Akubovwe, Secretary, Health Committee, Dr. Emmanuel Egboduku and Dr. Newton Asaboro, Sport Committee, Sir James Atie; Chairman and Mr Oke Adutomare; Secretary, Constitution Amendment Committee, Barr. Happy Oharisi; Chairman and Barr. Oberhirhi Adeda, Secretary, and Tasks Force Committee, Mr Ovoka Solomon, Chairman and Oghenekevwe Kpefe Iyete; Secretary.
According to Ugbarugba “The newly constituted committee members must shun illegal activities and work in consonance with the Delta State laws and the Nigeria constitution.
He said, “Otovwodo is no longer a small community but an urban community, that is linked to other serval communities and it will be too cumbersome for the central executive members to effectively governed.
“The needs for these committees inaugurated today is to share our responsibilities for effective leadership in Otovwodo Community.
“The Ovie of great Ughelli kingdom and the people of Otovwodo Community are aware and approved it”.
Responding on behalf of the committee members, Olorogun (Mrs) Beatrice Olori, “This is a welcome development and I must commend the community leadership, I think it is a way forward.
Meanwhile, the mandate for the Security and Environmental Committees banned on indiscriminate dumping of waste disposal on the highways, drainages and the sales and consumption of hard drugs in the community.
“Dumping of wastes on highways and drainages, sales and consumption of hard drugs are highly prohibited in the community. Anyone involve shall be arrested and handed over to the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA and be dealt with seriously”
