The Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Development, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon has called on Deltans especially the youths to ensure they reflect the spirit of true citizens and be law abiding as the Christmas celebration approaches.
In his Christmas admonition to the youth, Prince Sony Jifas noted that, Christmas celebration is an annual festival celebrated by Christians in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ around the globe, adding that it is a celebration of joy but not sorrow.
Recalling the memories the celebration of Christmas brings along, Prince Jifas stated that it is one celebration that always unify people.
Reiterating the economic advancement of Christmas, he said the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has work tirelessly in building a fertile ground for Deltans to do their business.
He commended the governor for his kind heart in implementation of the new minimum wage for workers to smile home during this celebration.
Admonishing the youths, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon charged Delta youths to imbibed the spirit of respect and give honour to Jesus Christ whose feast we celebrate.
“It is not a time to fight, kill ourselves over little things, the man you celebrate is a peace loving God”.
He thanked the Delta State Governor for his vision and foresight and for investing hugely on infrastructural development and for ensuring there is relative peace through out the state.
” Let us take advantage of the season to unite and accommodate each other in the spirit of oneness.”
Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon further called on Delta youths to live exemplary life that will make them reference point to other youths from other parts in Nigeria.
While ensuring them of the governor’s readiness to support the youths, the philanthropists and special assistant to the governor on youth development, also urged the youths to desist from acts such as stealing, kidnapping and cultism as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
In his words; “anywhere there is peace, development is sure to happen. Our communities in Delta State has often lacked this development.
“We are people whose region have impacted positively and economically to the growth of the Nigerian State, I therefore charged that the youths in Delta State, continue to showcase their peaceful nature as we approach this Christmas and consequently the new year.”
Finally, he appealed to all Deltans to think safety in this period and be conscious of all they do in order to avoid sorrowful or sad news.
