Special Adviser to the governor on DESOPADEC Matters, Rt. Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq., has extols the virtues of the First Lady of Delta state, Dame Edith Okowa, describing her as a compendium of every good thing whose life has impacted positively on Deltans through her various pet projects.
Oboro in a statement signed by her Media and Publicity Director, Hon. Sunday Apah, stated that in the last five years as the wife of the governor, Dame Edith Okowa, dedicated her life in joining her husband to take governance to those who need it most, as can be attested to by some of her lofty initiatives under the auspices of 05 Initiative.
The Delta Central Senatorial candidate of the PDP in the last general election, maintained that Dame Okowa is an admirable, caring and understanding woman whose humanitarian work has brought life to many irrespective of their backgrounds.
According to the two terms Federal House of Representatives member, Dame Edith Okowa is a woman with a golden heart who had secured the release of some inmates at various prisons in Delta state by paying option of fine for them, equipping and supplying drugs to their clinics.
“Dame Edith Okowa through her 05 Initiative has continued to help and enlightened sickle cell carriers to ensure that the survival rate of people with sickle cell disorder is higher.
“In order to achieve optimum result, she established and equipped clinics across the 25 Local Government Areas in Delta state to eradicate encumbrances faced by ‘Survival and Success’ clients in accessing health facilities”, she added.
Oboro who described Dame Edith Okowa as “the Mother Theresa” of our time, said she has devoted her time and life for the upliftment and growth of the less privileged in the society and wished her more fruitful years of selfless services.
