The Delta state chapter of Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) have elected a16-man new executives with Edewor Obaro as chairman for the next four years.
The election which was peacefully conducted through harmonization brought to an end the previous tenure which elapse in September, 2019.
Conducting the election and swearing in at Warri, Delta State, NARTO General Manager, Operations, Mr. Okafor Stephen said, “What we expect from you as the new executive members in Delta state is unity of purpose. Put in your best, adhere to the rules and regulations, the objective and the interest of members.
“NARTO is the umbrella body of transporters in Nigeria and the welfare of members is sacrosanct. Bring in new ideas, identify with yourself and be selfless in rendering service to the public.
The new state chairman, Edewor Obaro in his acceptance speech, assured members of his determination to continue with the legacies of his predecessor in office. He promised to work with the other elected officers as a team in order to realise the objective of the group.
He said, “This success is a culmination of an enormous collective efforts from our national executive cut across all board and our vision is to lead and engaged in the haulage of petroleum products, general cargos and movement of passengers within the countess the entire West Africa sub region.
“No doubt our challenges are equally cut across bounds in all areas but we will synergize with government agencies to usher in empowerment in all areas of our association by training of our personnel in all fields of work.”
He reiterated his resolve to work with all stakeholders, partners of the Association and all agencies of government in order to secure and strengthen the business of transporters in the country.
