MRDD Gov’ship Candidate, Oyowi Accepts Defeat, Congratulates Okowa

Engr. Oghotevwo Lucky Oyovwi, gubernatorial candidate of the Movement for the Restoration and Defense of Democracy (MRDD) has has accepted the out come of the result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Delta State and has congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the winner of the March 9th governorship election in the state.

According to Oyovwi, “My mission to govern Delta State was born out of the desire to giver them basic infrastructural development across the state but I will respect the wish of the people of the state who had chosen Governor Okowa to remain in power in the four next years.

In a release signed by the MRDD’s governorship and made available to Politics Governance, he assured the governor of his total support and commitment to his vision of Smart Agenda to raise the standard of living in line with his MRDD point under which platform he contested.

“I have accepted the result declared by INEC and willing to work with the Okowa’s government, therefore it is just right for everyone to support his Excellency Governor Okowa for the development of our beloved State. 

"We are capable and willing, and therefore look forward to working with Governor Okowa towards Human Capital Development (HCD) and Infrastructural Development to make our Delta State an Investors Haven.”

According to the press “I write to congratulate His Excellency, Governor IfeanyiArthur Okowa for his well-deserved victory as Delta State governor in the just concluded Governorship election in the State.

“Your victory clearly signifies Deltans quest for Equity, Peace and Unity, and I am confident that you will improve on your first term achievements in extending your ‘SMART’ agenda to every ‘Nook and Cranny’ of the State. 

“I therefore pray Almighty GOD grant you His Wisdom, Grace and Good Health to continue to steer the affairs of the State to its desired height.

“Delta State is our State and as I mentioned during my campaign, my desire is for the betterment of Delta State for every Deltan, and I know your SMART Agenda; “Prosperity for All Deltans” is also for progress and advancement of the state.”

The MRDD governorship candidate stated that now that elections were over, all Deltans including all contestants in the election should join hands with the present administration in building a progressive and peaceful state.

“Now that the elections are over, Collaboration, Inclusiveness and Participatory approach are therefore expected for greater harmonyin maintaining existing Peace and Progress towards making the people’s lives extraordinarily better.


“In line with the aforementioned, Governor Okowa during his victory thanksgiving service had urged his political opponents and all Deltans to join hands with him in building a greater Delta State”, the MRDD governorship candidate added.
