Many Injured As Cult Groups Clash Over Phone Charger In Ughelli North

 

Several persons have been reportedly injured a related cult clash between two rival groups over phone charger at different locations in Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Those injured are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals as one of victims is alleged to have died from gun shot.

It was learned that the two groups, Eiye and Maphite had issues over who own a phone charger and as it the matter prolonged, fight ensue between both parties and one was injured.

Sources who spoke on anonymous condition said, “Not satisfied with the incident, one of the effected cult member returned with his squad and attacked a senior member of the rival group in retaliation for their injured colleague.

According to one of the source, “The other group relatively returned and strike in a full scale and in the process, one of the cultists was severely injured to the point of death before he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

“Currently hit squad are one the street rolling in search for their rivals at different locations in Agbarho.

“Eiye and Maphite have signed a peace agreement in Agbarho, Delta State, pledging to end all violence between them. The peace agreement was reportedly facilitated by the community with the help of the police.

“In the peace agreement, one of the cult groups agreed to cover the hospital bill and sort out the damaged Android phone of the rival member, while they promised to return the seized iPhone 13 Pro Max, once the hospital bill and damaged phones are sorted out.”

“In attempt of to resolve melee the some leaders of cult groups are calling for peace since the injured victim did not die as retaliation will only continue the cycle of violence but it now seems to have started again.”

Another source said, ‘Last night, we got unconfirmed reports of a killing, a member went to the place of his rival who run a cartel and shot his sales boy, who is a suspected cultist but the victim survived and his is in an undisclosed hospital.

“The peace agreement broke down over a dispute about items to be returned, one of suspected cultists claimed that three people were shot in Saturday with one reportedly dying on the spot..

“This is in the cult clash between Maphite and Eiye which was initially resolved, but started again.” The source disclosed.
