Many injured as Afiesere, Ogbovwan clash over ‘deve’  levy

Several persons have been injured and are receiving medical attention in a clash between Afiesere and Ogbonvwan communities over an alleged collection of ‘Deve’ in the area.
It would be recalled that Delta state Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa Okowa sign into law abolishing the collection of ‘Deve’ by any individual in the state.
According to a community source, trouble started when persons from Ogbonvwan accosted land developers to demand for ‘deve’ which has been abolished by the Delta State Government.
The source alleged that upon the intervention by Afiesere community to prevail on them to stop the illegal extortion, it resulted into fight between both communities and many were severally injured.
