The Nigeria Police attached to Ofuoma division has arrested a 26-year old father of one simply identified as Mr. Raphael Kotiko for allegedly defiling a minor in Ofuoma community, Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
It was gathered the suspect lured the 10-year old girl name withheld to an uncompleted building last Sunday to engaged the primary school girl in the illicit act.
Sources from the community disclosed that bubble busted when a young boy of same age with girl demands money from the suspect and victim and their refusal led him to report to the girls parents.
According to the, “After the report by the boy name withheld, parents went in search of their daughter whom they found weeping after her defilement by the suspect.
Narrating their finding, the parent of the victim name withheld said, “The suspect, Mr. Raphael threatened to kill us when we accosted him over what he did to our daughter.
“We have to report the matter at Ofuoma police division which led to his arrest and the police ordered us to go for check up at the hospital.
“We took her to Ughelli Central Hospital for medical attention and from the results, it was confirmed that our daughter was defiled. The results are with the police at Ofuoma.
Also speaking, the victim, a primary four (4) pupils said, “I was coming back from church when Raphael called and told me that he want to sleep with and I said no to him, he pushed and force himself on me.
“He told me that if I shout, he will kill me. This is the second time he has been doing it with me”.
When contacted the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright who confirmed the incident said, “Confirmed” but I am yet get full details of the incident. I will update you when I am fully briefed”. He said.
But a senior police officer attached to the division disclosed that “the reports from Ughelli Central Hospital that is with us indicates that the little girl was defiled and investigation is still on going just as the suspect is in the custody of the police”.
