A victim of kidnap narrowly escaped from his kidnappers as his vehicle, mobile phone and other valuables went with the suspected kidnappers in Ekiugbo community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Though the report is sketchy,it was learned the victim, a Civil Engineer narrowly escaped from his abductors after they had successfully get hold of him.
It was learned that the victim name (withheld), had gone to fill his gas cylinder and on his way home when the unfortunate incident occurs at the entrance of his home.
A source for the area who spoke on anonymous condition said, “The man went to fill his gas cylinder and he got to his compound,he alighted from his car to the waiting hands of the kidnappers.
“They shot sporadically to scare people,they succeeded in handcuffing their victim and bundle him into the waiting car but along the line, the man escaped with his kidnappers handcuffs.
“And unfortunately,the kidnappers made a way with his car, mobile phones and other valuables that were with him in the car.
Though the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright could not be contacted as at the time of this report, but a senior security source confirmed the incident.
The source said, “There was an attempted kidnap at Ekiugbo community at about 8:pm last Thursday.
“We have not gotten more information on it but we were notified the the victim went to Ughelli Police Division to incident the matter.” the anonymous security source revealed.
