A 3-day in-house training for the staff of the Department of Investment and Industrial Promotion kicked off yesterday amidst pomp and pageantry.
The training with theme, ‘Enhancing Official Performance and Environmental Safety ‘, was initiated by the Acting Head, Investment and Industrial Promotion, Barrister Tsewo Edema.
While, declaring the workshop opened yesterday, Barrister Edema stated that, the purpose of the in-house training was to improve the knowledge and enhance the performance of the staff, for the task ahead in their job and pleaded with them to embrace the opportunity created by the exercise.
Several speakers, took their turn on various topics yesterday with the 1st paper, “Office Management” delivered by Mrs Peace Ogun, Secretary to the Managing Director /CEO, DESOPADEC, Bashorun Hon. Askia Ogieh.
She, emphasized the importance of good office management as a key to bringing a good flow of work as it also help a worker to achieve what he/ she set out to do daily.
Others who took turns to educate the staff included Mr David Ejukonemu of DESOPADEC Secretariat, who dwelled on the topic, ‘Memo Writing ‘, while Mr Godspower Assay, Sectional Head, Safety, spoke on “Environmental Safety “.
For today’s event, Mr Ben Mragbuzo, was on the topic, “Developing Entrepreneurial Skills”, with the 2nd paper for today, “Time Management ” in a Work Place,” handled by the Acting Head, Barrister Tsewo Edema.
However, Amb. Shedrack Agediga, ED PRS, who was supposed to be one of the Key Speaker was represented by Pastor Simon Idowu and he spoke on “Conflict Resolution”, while the last speaker was the Acting Head, Media and Public Affairs Unit, Mrs Chinenye Ezonfade spoke on ” “Work Ethics and Courtesy In A Work Place”.
The in-house training will be rounded up tommorow with the MD /CEO DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh as a sole speaker.
The programmes for tomorrow’s closing ceremony will kick off by 9 am and it promises to be epoch making event.
