The Councilor representing Okumagba Ward 1& 9 In Warri South Local Government Legislative Arm, Hon Lucky Ibiri has denied his alleged purported suspension by the leader of the Warri South Local Government Legislative Arm.
Hon Lucky Ibiri in a press briefing urged the people of Ward 1&9 and general public to ignore his suspension rumor as the House lack the due process as at when the suspension was carried out against a subsisting court order.
Hon Ibiri who made this known while reacting to an online news of his suspension disclosed that the said publication was not balanced as he not reached out to get his own views.
Currently, my life is as stake and I am requesting security agents to be on high alert as there were countless threats on my life.”
According to hin, “Sometimes ago, the Leader of the Warri South Local Government Legislative Arm, attempted to pass a budget without councilors making their inputs a situation which and I objected to.
“Can speaking the truth to your fellow elected members be the major reason for one’s suspension because of what is right.?
“I secured a court order restraining the house from going ahead with the suspension but all to no avail the Councilors disregarded the order of the court.
“They almost maimed the bailiff who served the order with thugs that came into the Warri South Local Government Legislative Arm who tore his pockets and made away with his phone and issued threat to him.
While declaring that he remains the duly elected Counselor representing Okumagba 1 ward 9 In Warri South Local Government Legislative Arm until proven otherwise by a competent Court, Lucky Ibiri fingered top politicians for his travails.
He called on relevant authority including Delta State Governor Rt Honorable Sheriff Oborevwori to intervene and ensure his fundamental human rights are upheld.
