ASABA- The Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Sir Edwin Ogidi- Gbegbaje has sued for Peace and adminished DELSU ALMA MATER to show exemplary behavior towards the education survival of the great institution.
Sir Edwin made this call during the
Just concluded August Meeting of DELSU Alumni Award and Gala Night at Hotel Benizia, Asaba.
Sir Edwin Ogidi- Gbegbaje while delivering his speech noted that Alumni Association should work toward ensuring that they protect and project the legacies of the founding fathers of the great institution, having being impacted on the Alumnus for the greater good of its members and the society at large.
He then sue for Peace among members and encourage them to make contributions capable of promoting greater education Sustainability of Delta State University, Abraka towards Societal Development.
He further explained that through Alumni Association, old Institutions are developed, graduates are reunited in other to continue to relate, cohabit and work together. Also, they give directions to their individual lives, families and society at large.
Speaking further he stated that through Alumni Association projects and Government policies for the greater good of the Citizens are directly or indirectly influenced.
The Permanent Secretary Government House and Protocol in his words: “The only way to boost the Institutions is got members to make donations, use their offices cum positions to achieve things for their Alma mater, most importantly to excel in the fields of their endeavours they belong as it will attract international support and recognition”.
” All these will confer prestige, honour and enhance the Institutions certificate thereby securing good reputation for all future students of the Institution”.
“It is the graduates that brings honour and prestige to the University. Permit me to espouse a little about one of the roles reserved for the Alumni Association but not related to the University itself, which is the responsibility of looking out for the progress of one another and coaching and mentoring the younger graduates”.
“The Public Service and Corporate World is competitive, the world and its entirety. The young graduates without a coach or a mentor will be lost in the vast catacombs that have become the Corporate World and the Public Service”.
‘It is thereby our responsibility as Alumni of our Prestigious Delta State University to look out for the progress of one another without tribal or religious sentiments via coaching and mentoring the younger graduates/ generation”.
“Since the University system is a veritable platform to incubate and propagate ideas that rule and dominate the world, thus it should continue to be the guiding principles for the DELSU Alumni Association” .
