The creation of Federal Ministry of Livestock Development is another wastage of public funds aimed at gratifying hangers-on with compassionate appointments.
The Ministry Of Agriculture is already there with all relevant departments. Rearing of cows, fowls, pigs, turkeys, snails, etc don’t require a special ministry.
The clash between between herdsmen and farmers is caused by wild/unrestrained grazing of cows in farms. The herdsmen take their cows to farms to feed on crops planted by farmers.
The problem is known. Wild/unrestrained grazing if stopped the problem of clash between farmers and herdsmen will stop.
As for the criminality of herdsmen across the nation, like killing and kidnapping has nothing to do with the clash of herdsmen and farmers. The herdsmen kidnapping and killing started with Boko Haram insurgency believed to be carried out by Fulani from other African countries who invaded the country with the aide of their Fulani brothers and sisters from the northern Nigeria.
The federal government is fully aware of the problem but pretend about it. Money used to pay idle staff of ministry workers is enormous.
The creation of Federal Ministry of Livestock Development has no capacity to end the herdsmen killings and kidnapping. It is purely herdsmen criminality and nothing more.
Is President Bola Tinubu not tired of appointing cronies and his Yoruba people to fill everywhere? There is no week Tinubu will not appoint cronies.
Every Nigerian can’t be in government. Too many leakages in government of Nigeria at all levels.
Tinubu please stop this everyday appointment of frivolous portfolios that have no relevance and run a credible administration rather than this drama of creating new offices that are already bloated in my opinion.
Tinubu just can’t be printing Nigerian currency to pay idle workers. Tinubu as the Commander-In-Chief please tell your security operatives to stop herdsmen killing and kidnapping.
