Emede Political Forum for sheriffied Project in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State congratulates Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori over Monday’s Court of Appeal ruling, which upturns the lower court judgment and affirmed him as the PDP candidate to contest the 2023 Governorship election in Delta state.
In a statement signed by Mr Terry Akpughe, the Co-ordinator, Chief Godfrey Omozue (JP), Treasurer, Mrs Oke Fearnot, Woman leader and Hyacinth Ekere, the Publicity Secretary on behalf of the forum, said the court ruling represented a positive step towards Oborevwori’s impending overwhelming victory at the polls come 2023.
Members of the Political Forum who are mainly PDP members, described the verdict as a “victory for democracy and the rule of law especially in protecting the inalienable rights of eligible citizens to freely participate in the electoral process without any form of hindrance.”
It said the development has helped to enrich the judiciary and further deepened the nation’s democratic evolution.
The Emede political forum for Sheriffied Project also applauded Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for always remaining focused and upholding democratic principles, which enable Deltans and Nigerians to operate in an environment that allows for full expression of fundamental rights.
Commending the judiciary for its stabilizing role in the polity, the forum, urged its members and supporters to stand on the platform of this judicial victory to intensify efforts for eventual electoral victory for the Governorship and other candidates of the party in the general elections.
The group said, “Yes, Mr Speaker’s victory didn’t come to us as a surprise, members of this forum see his victory as a triumph of democracy in Delta State, and an indication of the people’s choice for Governor”come 2023.
