Ebegba Urges Urhobo To Work And Take Back Her Place In Nigeria

The chairman of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Nyanya Karu Branch FCT, and Director General of the National Biosafety Management Agency, NBMA, Chief Dr. Rufus Ebegba, has called on the Urhobo people to close ranks and collectively work towards attaining it’s pride of place in the polity as it is blessed with abundance of human and natural resources with which it has contributed immensely to national development.

 

Chief Ebegba gave the admonition while speaking in his capacity as chairman of the occasion at the election of a new executive for the Abuja branch of the UPU, at Diamond Hotel and Suites, Kubwa Abuja, Saturday, May 29, 2021, where he reiterated his unflinching determination to always contribute his meaningful quota to the development of Urhobo nation and her people, in particular, Delta State and Nigerian, in general.

While emphasizing the need for the people to remain united and maintain peace among themselves as well as their neighbors, he charged the UPU to ensure that the people are fully mobilized to key into the pursuit of a common agenda built around the determination to attract meaningful infrastructural development in Urhobo land that would positively affect the peoples’ lives.

The President of the Abuja UPU, Bar. Benard Nafagha commended Chief Ebegba for his steady support over the years, noting that he (Ebegba) has accorded the Union an uncommon attention and contributed immensely to making it fulfill it’s obligations and meet set goals.

While describing Dr. Ebegba as a man of impeccable character and gentleman that has displayed exceptional leadership qualities that stands him out as a dependable ambassador of the Urhobo ethnic nationality, Barr. Nafagha assured that they were solidly behind him in his proven determination to continue to promote and develop the Urhobo Nation.

It would be recalled that Chief (Dr.) Rufus Ebegba, is among recipients of the Hero Of The Year award organized by the Young Shall Grow Union of Nigeria as part of activities marking this year’s Children Day celebration in Eku, with president of the organization, Amb. Abraham Ekateme eulogising his sterling qualities, outstanding contributions to national development and keen interests in the upliftment of the younger generation that qualified him for award.

 

Dr. Ebegba who was represented at the award ceremony by Mr. Happy Igho Umukoro, thanked the organizers for the honour, stressing that the gesture reignited his passion to support children and the youths, being a fan of the young people who are key to both the present and the future.
