A legal practitioner and the administrator of Umeh Need Road an online forum, Chief (Barr) Duncan Afahokor, has thrown his weight behind the ambition of Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan for the Delta South senatorial election in 2019.
Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the immediate past governor Delta state has shown interest to vie for the Delta South Senatorial seat in 2019 general election, an ambition that has been greeted with wild jubilation from the people of the senatorial district.
Speaking on his UNR facebook page, Chief Duncan disclosed that his little and the Umeh people way to say thank you to Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is to vote for him as a senator in the forthcoming senatorial election in 2019 and our support for him is anchored on the faith and trust that if he goes to the Senate, we will definitely get more from him.
He said, “Umeh was a community in Isoko South which you can only enter 5 months out of the 12 months in a year. We usually take 3 days to transport our plantain and other farm produce to the famous East west road. When you lost a loved one or intend to do any ceremony, you must wait till December because was very bad.
“Teachers and Nurses posted to Umeh don’t spend one week there, before they ask for transfer out of the place. If you want to build, you transport your building materials through Patani river or from Owodokpokpo river but when he launched his ‘Delta beyond Oil’ policy, via this page we asked for the construction of Umeh road and also requested competent companies like Julius Berger or Setraco be given the contract and our request was granted beyond what we asked for.
“We did not only get the road, we also got a modern primary school. Now we can access the community 12 months in a year and it now takes less than 10 minutes to carry our plantain to the East west road. The Community granted him citizenship of and piece of land.
“The said citizenship was granted His former Excellency on the 14th of February 2015 coupled with a piece of land, has nothing to do with his senatorial ambition but since he has shown interest to run for the senatorial position, this is right time to show him more of our support to the Red Chambers.” He held
