AHEAD of the forthcoming elections in 2023, two political pressure groups in Delta state, Delta Political Actualization Network, DPAN and Ughelli Urban Political Movement, UUPM, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide the foundation and structure for a sustainable commitment towards a common interest.
The two independent political pressure groups, formed alliance after series of meetings and adopted a name “Joint Team” at a Town Hall meeting held at Ughelli, Delta state.
Speaking after the signing and adoption of the MoU which was witnessed by 769 members that attended the event, Evang Ative Rayner Ishaka said, “With the signing of the MoU, i have the assurance and believe that there will be a positive edge for the dividends of democracy to our people.
According Ishaka, chairman of DPAN, “Joint Team is not a mission to kill or to destroy another man mission but a program designed to protect our interest and for the people at the grassroot.
“DPAN and UUPM being leading independent political pressure groups in Delta state have taken the unusual bold step in the political arena as they come together as JOINT TEAM to effectively propagate the gospel of good governance in the politics of 2023 and beyond.
“The Joint Team whose slogan is: Common Interests For Good Governance has painstakingly had series of meetings in the past ten weeks in view of fine-tuning formidable strategies that will sufficiently tackle and dismantle those political mediocre and neophytes who continually tend to undermine the wills and powers of the Grass-Root Political Elements.
“The Town-Hall meeting of the two groups (Joint Team), held today Monday 26th of December, 2022, witnessed the presentation, adoption and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which emanated from a concerted efforts of the two groups to have a working document which is very pivotal to the success of this synergy.”
On his part, chairman of Ughelli Urban Political Movement, UUPM, Rev. Engr.Johnbull Obrhorhien disclosed that the coming together of these two well known independent pressure groups in Delta state is to change the narrative of politics in 2023 and beyond.
“We are going to do extra work as we are changing the narratives of politics in Delta state mostly now at the electioneering period in the country.”
