AHEAD of the forthcoming local government election slated for July, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, family in Ogor have affirmed Mr Ajero Okeoghene Prosper, as the councilorship candidate to represent Ogor DiSEC Ward II at the local government council in Ughelli North local Government Area of Delta State.
Mr Ajero Okeoghene Prosper, had earlier been adopted as a consensus aspirant in an enlarged meeting of the PDP held on May 14, 2024 at Oviri-Ogor community before his affirmation on May 24 in a meeting hosted by the foremost national leader of the party, Olorogun Hon Kpuwhara Anthony JP.
This is just as the leadership and members of PDP in Ogor have passed an explicit vote of confidence on the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for his massive developmental stride.
Addressing PDP faithful at Oviri-Ogor, foremost national leader of the party, Olorogun (Hon) Kpuwhara Anthony JP, said,” In compliance with our party directives and having agreed on a consensus aspirant for the forthcoming local government election, we have affirmed that Hon Ajero Okeoghene Prosper is the councilorship candidate to represent Ogor Ward II, comprising Oviri-Ogor and Edjekota communities.
According to Olorogun Kpuwhara, “The immediate past Councillor of the ward, Chief Emmanuel Osiokpor is from Edjekota-Ogor and now it is the turn of Oviri-Ogor produce the next councillor and both communities unanimously agreed and endorsed Hon Ajero Okeoghene Prosper as a consensus aspirant and we have all gathered to affirm his endorsement.
The affirmation was the outcome of an elaborate meeting that was held on May 14, 2024 and for his dedication to growth of the party and his handwork in Oviri-Ogor to reward him to do more.
“The affirmation of Hon. Ajero Okeoghene Prosper is in accordance with our party directives under the watch of Sir Chief Joe Enakerakpor and Chief Afatakpa Gilbert as the PDP local government representatives.”
Responding, Chief Joe Enakerakpo commended the PDP in Oviri-Ogor for the peaceful coexistence and conduct that brought about the endorsement and affirmation of the councillorship candidate.
He said, “I was marvelled to see our Mothers Brothers, the youths sitting calmly without any rancour or noise making and it goes to show that Ogor PDP is united under your leadership.”
However in a related development, the Ogor PDP has passed an explicit vote of confidence on the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori over his outstanding performance since he assumed office on May 29, 2023.
In a motion raised by Barr Abraham Whisky, a former PDP LGA chairman in Ughelli North and it supported by Chief Osiokpo Emmanuel, which was unanimously adopted by party faithful, they described the performances and execution of projects by Gov Oborevwori across the state as second to non.
They held that Gov Oborevwori has proven beyond doubts and fears that he would not perform as a governor by naysayers.
“We are happy that our governor has again shown that action is louder than voice which he has displayed road construction and inauguration of many more project as enshrined in his MORE Agenda.
Also, we want to congratulate him on his one year in office and it is our belief that in the coming years of his administration, and the level of construction and development, Delta state will be next Dubai in Nigeria.”
At the event, hundreds of dedicated APC members led by Elder Prosper Ajero joined the PDP fold and they were received by foremost national leader of the party, Olorogun Hon Kpuwhara Anthony JP at Oviri-Ogor.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of PDP flag to the councilorship candidate for Ogor ward II, Hon Ajero Prosper Okeoghene at the forthcoming local government elections.
