Senior Special Assistant on Contacts and Mobilization to the national president of Urhobo Progress Union, Youth-Wing, Comr. Rufus Akpobome Ibebe has resigned his position over unforseen circumstances.
Comrade Ibebe had in a statement said “With Effect from 15th November, 2024 due to personal reasons that was taken after due considerations, I tendered my resignation as the Senior Special Assistant to the UPU Youth Wing President, Activist Ughere Blessed.
“I wish to sincerely appreciate Activist Ughere in particular and the UPU Youth Wing in general for the opportunity given to me to serve in this capacity.
“I remain committed to the growth and development of of Urhobo Nation, and would be available to serve in other platforms.
The recent resignation of Comr Rufus Akpobome Ibebe has caused an internal rift in the Ughere led executive as some are allegedly accusing Ughere Blessed of running a non inclusive administration.
Efforts to contact Ughere Blessed over the resignation of his Senior Special Assistant was not successful as calls to his number were not connected.
But an executive member of Ughere Blessed led executive who spoke on anonymous condition said, ” Many of us as executive members were not aware of the appointment and I can tell you categorically that, we are not surprised over the resignation.
“If you notice, many of us are currently getting fed up with his activities and the ovation is gradually going down.
“We have two years left and if we continue like this, I bet you,we might crash but I am praying that some of us should retrace our step and work in accordance as a team to achieve our goal.”
