As the world continues to grapple with the ravaging coronavirus pandemic, President of the League of Woman Voters of Nigeria (NILOWV) RT. Hon Esther Uduehi has advised parents to restrain their wards from violating the social distancing rule.
In a statement signed by its President, Rt. Hon. Dame Dr. Esther Uduehi, (PhD.) she stated that “This is a message of hope to all Nigerian women and dearest leaguers. Please adhere strictly to all known quarantine rules and regulations as directed by the federal and your various state governments.
“We as Women are principal actors in upholding all hygiene rules by ensuring a higher level of environmental cleanliness in this crucial period. Restraining our wards from violating the social distancing rules is our responsibility as well.
“To the Nigerian and state governments; please do more to provide enough and adequate testing kits and quarantine centers and think of providing palliatives measures that can give succor to the Nigerian Women who obviously will bear the weight of staying at home more than the men.
“These are indeed perilous times and may the Lord God of the universe protect His handiwork. The League of Women Voters of Nigeria does sympathize with the families of those who lost their lives to this dreadful disease and pray that God will heal those who have tested positive. We also pray for all Medical staff and paramedics who are caring for the affected.
“I have directed that with immediate effect, NILOWV Offices all over the Federation should remain closed for the next 30 days and we should observe the stay at home order for our own good. Coronavirus is real in Nigeria and it is serious. All communications if necessary should be online. And all advocacies should be online. Let us all join in prayers for God’s intervention and healing of the World and our Nation.” She said.
