Connect2Hope Foundation Sets To Empower Skill Acquisition Trainee At Graduation

THE founder of a non governmental organization, Connect 2Hope foundation, Olorogun Engr. Omonefe Anthony Uwanogho has disclosed that the foundation is set to empower her 20 trainee currently acquiring skills at the Delta State Skill Acquisition Center, Afiesere in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

Olorogun Engr Uwanogho who made this known during his unscheduled visit to the Skill Acquisition Center, expressed satisfaction with the commitment level of students trainee towards their future.

 

He said, “I am here to actually visit the students that our foundation, Connect2Hope which I chairman sponsored to see how they are doing and coping with their training.

 

 

“We sponsored 20 of them to be trained on different skills, and it is important I visit the facilities were they are being trained to see their performances in acquiring skills.

 

“Seeing the facilities and the equipments here is good even though there are lot of work to be done to take this place to the next level. it is better than nothing and we have to do what we can for people like us to support them.

 

“I am really happy to be here and happy to meet them, in the the nutshell it is good but it can get better.

 

“Flanked by the immediate past President resident General of the Great Ughelli Kingdom, Olorogun Pius Omubaye and Comrade Obaro Ubiebor, Engr Uwanogho said, “The only reason we are here is create a sustainable life for them after leaving this place and we are hoping that as they progress, we will hopefully provide funding for them, set them up and if the government support it will be fine.

 

“The whole idea is to ensure people in Ughelli and the young people in Ughelli who are ready,willing, able and capable and are interested in developing themselves, there must be something or somebody to help them get there and that is what we are doing right now.

 

 

“Our foundation, Connect2Hope as the name implies, is to give people that have lost hope, hope and we are very much focused on poverty alleviation

 

“I cannot educate a hungry man and the best thing to do is to educate him/her before educating them and I am very much focused on community development such as this but you cannot do that when there is not water, light and healthcare.

 

“We have supported both primary and secondary schools building modern toilets, provision of educational materials in my Uduere community in particular we have provided boreholes for other communities in Ughelli North and that is what we will continue to be doing.

 

 

“We have done it before and through Connect2 Hope, people have been connected to hope and hopefully this something that is going to be much bigger”.

 

While congratulating the students, Engr Uwanogho further warned that any of the sponsored students that did not not attend classes for three to four consecutive days should be shown the way out and be replaced with immediate effect if the students could not give reasons for absence.

 

Commending the Connect2Hope foundation, the immediate past President General of Ughelli Kingdom, Olorogun Pius Omubaye said, “Connect2Hope is actually empowering young people with skills and at the end of the day they will be self reliance.

 

“Connect2Hope has been a consistent foundation that is worthy of emulation by all and sundry, you see integrity in Connect2Hope and her team members.

 

“The best part of them is they scout for where to help the young people and how to empower them and make them to be useful to the society and themselves and families.

 

“I am personally proud of Connect2Hope Foundation, Ughelli is lucky to have this brother foundation and whatever thing they do, the King of the Great Ughelli Kingdom is aware.”

 

On his part, the administrator of the Delta State Vocational Center, Afiesere, Mr Augustine Isahwe said, “This is marvelous and when I broke the news to my head office In Asaba, they were agog, saying we need more of this and a letter of commendation will be sent to people of this nature.

 

“What they are acquiring is beyond the certificate but it is called Sabificate because we believed when they finish from here, they must be somebody in life and we are happy having Connect2Hope for being here for the people”
