Barely 24hrs after a Police Sergeant attached Eagle net was kidnapped in Ughelli metropolis, the corpse of the officer has been discovered and recovered at forest in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state.
The police officer, Sgt Ifeanyi popularly known as ‘Lion’ was kidnapped last Thursday along Aroh road, Ughelli while returning from work in the evening. It was gathered.
His kidnap was initially denied by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright who said, ‘Not True’ until the corpse was recovered from the forest.
A senior security source from the Delta State Police Command the confirmed the death of Sergeant Ifeanyi said, “He is dead, his phone number was tracked to one bush at Evwreni.
“Where he was found dead, he was shot on his neck, his hands were tied, his corpse has been taken to the central hospital morgue on Friday night
Reacting to the incident, Delta State Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright said, The police officer, after closing from work, was going home. He was intercepted and kidnapped, later, we discovered his dead body.
“Manhunt for the assailants is on and we will see how we an get them as soon as possible.”
