Aviation Minister, Keyamo Assures Okuama Of Fed Govt Involvement In Rebuilding, Donates 100 Bags Of Rice To Ewu IDP Camp

 

 

The Nigeria Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Space Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo,SAN, has assured the people of Okuama community in that president administration is involved in ensuring that a lasting peace is returned to the community.

 

 

Olorogun Keyamo made this known when he donated 100 bags of 25kg rice to Okuama-Ewu IDP Camp last Sunday.

Represented by Prince Sam Onokohwomo, Keyamo said,” We came with 100 bags of 25kg rice as one of the initiatives of the the Tinubu administration of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

 

According to Onokohwomo, “I am asked to give you hope that good things will come to ensure that the peace is required in Okuama will be achieved.

 

“We are doing everything possible in Abuja to make sure that the issues that brought us all here will be resolved and our people will go back home.

 

A camp cannot be accept as good because it is a temporary abode, people are forced to be here not because they want to be here but I like what I am seeing, the environment is clean, conducive but it is a temporary environment for our people.

 

We want our people to be in their home and live a normal life and the federal government is working with the state government to ensure that all the issues that resulted their coming here are resolved for them to their home reconstructed for them to go back.

 

Receiving the items on behalf of the camp management chairman, Chief Austin Emaduku who is the secretary of the management committee for the Ewu-Okuama IDP Camp expressed happiness over the donated items.

 

He said, “I want to on behalf of the camp chairman,Mr Abraham Ogbodo and the people of Okuama to appreciate your kind gesture , we are satisfied, we are happy to see your presence today.

 

“We all know the story of Okuama, while every right thinking person regret and condemn the dastard killing of our service men, we also know that innocent citizens have suffered the consequences.

 

 

“I want to thank the Delta state government for setting up this camp for bringing these people from the forest where they were hiding and ever since then, the camp has been running smoothly and we have received several donations from people.

 

“We and the people are happy that the Honourable Minister, a free born of Urhobo has come to identity with his people.

 

“This is just a camp and we know that the greater objective is to resettle the people back to their business, the State government has started the process, contracts have been awarded but we are appealing to the international community and the federal government to come to our assistance.

 

“Our message should be convey to the president that Okuama people need help, buildings , healthcare, the Okuama people need to be resettled back as they cannot live in the IDP Camp forever.”
