…He Is A Trouble Maker, Land Grabber, Must Live Afiesere Community, If… Dominic Denedo, Eldest Man
Afiesere Community in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, have declared that one Hon. Julius Efeni Akpovoka is a customary tenant who wants to intimidate and cause chaos in their peaceful community.
Addressing Journalists in an elaborate community meeting at Afiesere town hall on Thursday, July 11, 2024, President-General of the community, Amb.Richard Ovwreghederohwo Aduvie, accused Julius Efeni Akpovoka, of being a customary tenant
“He is stranger who specialize in forging land documents and using the police and court petitions to intimidate and fight the host community of Afiesere because of his perceived wealth.”
Amb. Richard Ovwreghederohwo Aduvie, flanked by other executive members and elders of the community, maintained that Afiesere community is always hospitable and accommodating to all strangers, but warned that the community will not tolerate incessant litigations by tenants.
“As a community, there is a constitution to how the community is governed, and cannot be imposed on the people.
“The leadership of Afiesere community goes from quarter to quarter, and it is not something you arrogste to yourself but a decision of the families it is zoned to, so if they present you to the entire community, then you go.It is not a stranger affair, but Indigenes.
“Hon. Julius Efeni Akpovoka is not from Afiesere community, but Ovwiamuge Agnarho community. He should not take the simplicity of Afiesere community being hospitable for granted”.
Speaking to journalists, the Okpako ‘Orere of Afiesere Community, Chief Dominic Denedo, described Hon. Julius Akpovoka as someone terrorizing the peaceful community of Afiesere with several courts litigations even when he is not from the community.
“We have resolved that Hon. Julius Efeni Akpovoka, not being a citizen or an indigene of the community, to go to his fatherland to dominate with his petitions and litigations.
“His father is not from Afiesere, but Ovwiamuge Agbarho community.
He has insulted the President-General, the Elders and entire community by telling lies that the Present Excos do not hold meetings, annual conferences and others”.
Also speaking, Chief J.E Akponana, ‘The Orosevwohwo of Ughelli Kingdom, said the meeting of the elders is to state its position clearly, and to make it known to the public that Hon. Julius Efeni Akpovoka, is not, and never an Afiesere community indigene.
He noted that the meeting of the entire community on Thursday, was to say know to Akpovoka nuances and described him as a stranger who has over stayed his welcome in the community, and chose to blackmail the leadership of the community and cause litanies of problem.
“He is not from Afiesere community and as long he cannot live in peace and allow others to live peacefully, we want him to leave for his home town of Uvwiamuge.
“He has dragged the community to court severally and now, he is compelling the present exco to hold another conference after the annual conference.
He is not from Afiesere community, he should go to Uvwiamuge community to seek for his right.
Hon. Chief Ese Emuedo, an opinion leader in the community and a popular politician in Delta state said, that the entire community has passed a vote of confidence on the community leadership under Hon. Richard Ovwreghederohwo Aduvie for being astute, dedicated, honest and transparent. He maintained that under his regime, Afiesere community has known peace and process.
Emuedo, a former Secretary to the Ughelli North Primary Education, denied the allegations of Hon.Julius Akpovoka, accusing the community executive of not wanting to handover their positions to others. He told journalists that its a false alarm from a stranger.
“It is false and wrong to maligned the President General and to compelled him to go and call for a press conference. He is not an indigene and has no right to dictate or compel, lie and petition bonafide indigene.”
Meanwhile, elder brother to Hon. Julius Efeni Akpovoka, told the community that his younger brother Julius Akpovoka is a trouble maker, land grabber who derived joy in litigations on properties that does not belong to him.
While narrating his own ordeal in the hands of Hon. Julius Akpovoka, he disclosed that his younger brother has severally written petitions full of lies and has always harassed him with the police.
“He always send police to take over my church premises for no reasons and most times arrested me. As I am talking to you now, my lawyer has being calling me because Hon. Akpovoka has again served a petition from Zone 5 of the Nigeria Police to him against me.
“He derives joy in causing problems everywhere, but I am appealing that those of us who are peaceful be accommodated and Carried along in the community.
Other speakers in the elaborate community meeting also denied that Julius Akpovoka is a stranger and a customary tenant to Afiesere community and cannot dictate for them.
Hon. Julius Efeni Akpovoka, is a business man and politician. He was one time a House of Representative candidate for the Labour Party under the Ughelli North, South and Udu Federal Constituency.
Efforts to contact, Hon Julius Akpovoka for response was not successful as calls to his line-0706***9009 were not connected.
