Activist Israel Joe Takes On EFCC Over Selective Arrest And Prosecution

Known global activist, Comr. Israel Joe has taken a swipe on some of the activities of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, over its operations aimed at one section only.

Israel Joe, who harsh tag himself as TableBreaker, had in a statement on his verified Facebook account accused the commission of undermining the current economic hardship and loopside arrest to distract angry Nigerians from the proposed protest while they could not locate the whereabouts of higher personalities in the country.

According to him, “I have been challenging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on their selective vindictiveness and sentimental prosecution in Nigeria.

“This same institution who could pretend not to know the whereabout of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, whom they declared wanted, knows all the hideouts of Yahoo boys.

On EFCC’s Raid in Jeddo, Ugbokodo, Ubeji, and Ughoton Axis in Delta State Yesterday (10/09/24)

Yahoo boys are committing fraud, no doubt, and we are hopeful the EFCC is doing a good job. However, this is a delusional distraction from the biting economic hardship as 1st October, nationwide protest draws near.

The government is doing everything to ensure those who would want to come out to protest are destabilised and their attention distracted. Society should expect more of these raids by EFCC and DSS. They are aware the youths are warming up to fill the streets.

NLC has been crippled and the psychological effect of the arrest and detention of the NLC President Joe Ajaero, who was later released yesterday, achieved the aim. The DSS would then start inviting pastors and activists who are vocal against the hardship very soon. All is to prevent a pending protest for 1st October Independence Day.

This same institution who could pretend not to know the whereabout of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, whom they declared wanted, knows all the hideouts of Yahoo boys. What a joke?

EFCC is one of the most corrupt organisations in Nigeria. I have said it severally. Their two past chairmen ended up with corrupt charges, including the last one Abdurasheed Bawa, who was everywhere, jumping like a frog.

Until Nigerians rebooted this country, nothing will get better.
