ASABA – Delta State chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Kenneth Okorie has advised youth in the state to be security conscious and make community policing the hallmark of their living.
Comrade Kenneth Okorie spoke to newsmen today in his office at Asaba on the occasion of the presentation letter of commendation to him on crime prevention by the leadership of National Community Policing campaign, (NCPC), Delta State chapter.
Comrade Okorie stated that the current security situation in Nigeria demands that all youths in their various communities, Stakeholders in the Youth Ministry, Traditional Institutions and Religious Bodies should join hands together to ensure that our environment are protected to prevent any invasion by unscrupulous persons or strange faces or intruders.
“Security Agencies cannot do the job of security alone, the saying goes that we are all our brothers’ keeper, that is, we are to watch the back of everyone in our environment”, he said.
“Youth leaders should cultivate the habit of mobilizing to secure their environment and report any criminal suspect or activities to the security agencies when discovered”, Delta NYCN Boss said.
Comrade Kenneth Okorie, also uses the medium to call on all youths in the State to be well sensitized on PVC registration which is currently going on in the whole country ahead of 2019 general election in Nigeria.
“All our youths should make sure that they are registered for the ongoing PVC registration in their various LGAs, wards, Communities, according to INEC leadership the registration exercise ends 1st quarter of this year”, Delta NYCN Boss said.
