Angry mobs in Evwreni community, have killed and set ablaze the remains of male suspect for smashing his son to death, killing a nursing mother and injuring others in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The suspect, Mr Samson Nava Ughere was clubbed to death and his remains was set ablaze by the mobs from Evwreni community while the deceased nursing mother’s identity could not be ascertained.
It was learned that Mr Samson, at about 2:am on Monday, smashed his son to death and a woman, simply identified as Princess whose other name could not be ascertained, who had brought her child out to either urinate or pass out waste was allegedly matchete to death by the assailant.
A source who spoke on anonymous condition disclosed that Mr Samson has been behaving strange and he was to be taken to a medical center for medications before the unfortunate incident occurred.
“He smashed his toddler son, matchete a woman who took her son out for toilet to death and the youths in process of trying to apprehend him, he injured more persons before he was finally arrested by youths from the community.
“After the incident, and his arrest, he was beaten to death and his remains was set ablaze with his motorcycle.”
As that was not enough his ashes and that of his son were taken to his family compound, while it was learned the deceased nursing mother has been buried.
Though the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright could not be contacted but a senior security source who confirmed the incident said, “Before our men could get to the scene, the suspect has been set ablaze.
