Okuama: UNYC President condemns killing and destruction of properties

The acting National President of the Urhobo National Youth Congress(UNYC), Prince Comr. Austin Emuetama has recently condemned the approach of the Nigeria Military that led to destruction of lives and properties in Okuama community in Ughelli South of Delta State.

He stated this while addressing newsmen in the group secretariat yesterday and caution the military to do a proper investigation on what led to the killing of it’s personal while dispatching their duties in the riverine community.

The President who condemned in totality the killing of the military personnel noted that the circumstances and reports concerning the incident should be properly investigated to ascertain the root cause so as to uncover the criminal elements  behind attack.

According to the the group president who said ” the people of Okuama community are going through hard time as a result of heavily armed military presence that as turned the community into a war zone with mothers, elders and children homeless.”

He also advised those that are blaming the executive governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F. Oborevwori for not responding on time to desist from such act.

He commended the governor for his swift response and effort so far to forestall peace and ensure the people of Okuama are not wipe out by the military invasion.

He called on the Federal, State Government and the military to do thorough investigation to fish out the criminal elements behind the incident to end the communal crisis  between Okuama and Okoloba communities.
