UPYA To Commence Free Skills Acquisition Training For Over 300 Niger Delta Youths In Delta

In its continuation to empower and equip youths in the Niger Delta region with skills,  a reputable non-governmental  organization, Urhobo Progressive Youth Association, UPYA, through its entrepreneural bid is set to commence free training for over 300 youths with different skill acquisition program.
The skill acquisition training program tagged, Train MeTrEds is aimed at uplifting the youths from grass to grace and be self reliance in other to be employers of labour.
It would be recalled that in 2018,over 500 youths were trained by UPYA and the best graduating students were reward with starter packs in Orogun community, Ughelli North local government area of Delta State.
In a statement by UPYA President, Prince Oghenetejiri Ogegere, “The week long event is bent on producing community of youths that would be employers of labour in the society.
Right from inception, UPYA has distinguished itself as a reliable Organization that has produced great people in the Niger Delta region and Urhobo nation in particular
If we can recall, over 506 youths were trained at Orogun community in 2018, and as today majority of them are now employers of labour and the Nigeria of today demands that every you must fly with a skill.
According to Ogegere, “This is the  first time we are going to train youths in Ughelli where our secretariat is domiciled after several trains across many communities in the region.
“Our professional trainers will train some of the youths on Computer Appreciation, Photography, Barbing, Liquid Soap Making, Tailoring, GSM Repairs, Olive oil, Perfume and other confectionaries production after which, starter pack will be presented to the very best among them from each sector.
“This train would also have certain incentives that were not in our previous ones as the are packages and alliances that will bring more to our participants which we will not  mention for the now except on the training ground.
“The free empowerment and entrepreneurship event in Ughelli will accommodate over 300 youths that will be trained on different skills as we don’t want our youths  to be relying on people or their certificates before they can put food on their table.
“Our youths should come out of their shells to pick a skill and learn it for free with UPYA and if we fail, the next generation to come would not be happy with our world.
“UPYA is bringing her mobile empowerment train to Ughelli North local for the first time so that our youths would be trained on skills acquisition and be employer of labour and be self dependent.
“We want to catch them young and through this medium, and it will interest us to know that they are very young and anything they learn now, they would not forget”. Ogegere revealed.
