Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Onojaeme has disclosed that the state Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the supply of Oxygen plants to major Central Hospitals across the state.
Dr Onojaeme stated this during the reception held in his honour at Ovrode Civic Centre, by Ovrode community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
He posited that, the State Governor has also approved Oxygen line to some central hospital as well as the revamping of 260 health Centers in the state.
“I am very grateful to God and the organisers of today’s reception held in my honour. Its worthy of note to inform everyone here that my one naira was not involved in all you see today. Its basically the efforts of the people of my own Ovrode Community people that put up this together.
“I want us to give kudos to His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State for appointing me as Commissioner for Health.
“My appointment as Commissioner for Health, I want to say categorically that, this is the first time an Isoko man is being appointed into the office of Commissioner for Health since the creation of Delta State.
Opportunity for all, no matter where you are from, whoever you know, or any connection you have. If you put in capacity and dedication to work, you have opportunity to go to any level you desire in this MORE Agenda of the governor.
“I want us to appreciate His Excellency for this appointment that he has brought to Isoko North and by extension Isoko nation, not just this appointment but within a very short time, he has approved to revamp 260 Health Centres in the the whole State. In the impact project programme, our Health Centre In Ovrode will be completely revamp.
The ones in Aradhe, Ellu will be completely revamp within a shortest time.
“Let me tell you, Governor Oborevwori has approved Oxygen plants in Ughelli, Warri, and Asaba General Hospitals across the state and Oxygen line in some Central Hospital across the state too.
“His Excellency will do more. The previous administration did well. But I am assuring you that he will do more by consolidating on uncompleted projects executed by the last administration.
If you noticed, you will see more projects going and that’s the continuity that His Excellency promised.
And the continuity is in Meaningful development, opportunity for all, Realistic reform, enhancement and security for all Deltans and the people of Isoko North and Ovrode by extension.
“I want to thank my people even before the election you people supported me. The support I got from Ovrode, Ellu and Aradhe was overwhelming.
I want to specially thank my own traditional rulers, the Ovie of Ellu kingdom for his support and prayers. I urge him to keep doing good. God bless you all.”
Earlier on in his welcome speech, the Chairman Caretaker Committee, Ovrode Development Union, Hon.Simon Okata, welcomed all dignitaries present to the reception held in honour of their illustrious son, Dr Joseph Onojaeme on his appointment and inauguration as Commissioner for Health by the Delta State Government, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
He assured the State Governor and members of the PDP family of the support of Ovrode community, pleading His Excellency for more dividends of democracy in the area of more appointments and infrastructural developments for Ovrode, noting that, “We pledge our unalloyed co-operation and loyalty to the State and all agencies of government,” Okata stated.
Speaking in an interview, the member representing Isoko North Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Barr Benard Odior said, Sheriff Oborevwori kept to his words by appointing Dr Joseph Onojaeme as Commissioner for Health and every thing he talked-about during his campaign, he is achieving them one after the other.
“We will give his administration the maximum support require to achieve the MORE Agenda of this administration. I am optimistic that he will deliver and improve on the Health sector of the State.
In their separate interviews, DESOPADEC Executive Director Finance and Administration, Chief Kome Okpobor and Isoko North PDP chairman, Elder Godwin Ogorugba, expressed gratitude to the Governor over the appointment of Dr Joseph Onojaeme as Commissioner, urging him to ensure that he perform credibly well to give the Health sector a new look in the state.
