The People of the Egbejila Airport area, in Ilorin this morning trooped out in large numbers to decry the deplorable state of their roads, gross negligence, and insincerity of the Kwara state government regarding the wellbeing of inhabitants of the area.
The protests moved by the insensitivity of the present APC government led the administration to their travails converged and Mounted a roadblock on the Egbejila Airport road to express their grievances.
The protesters brandishing placards of various anti-government inscriptions praised the past government under Abdulfatai Ahmed (Maigida) for constructing the first phase of the road from Agaka junction to Egbejila before handing over leadership to the incumbent.
They berated the Abdulrahman-led government for deceiving the people of the area by starting the construction of phase 2 but abandoned the project midway.
The residents also lamented that apart from the heavy taxation that the government collects from them daily, there’s nothing to show for all the revenue being generated in the area despite its economic viability.
