A yet to be identified member of Hunters Group of Nigeria, HGN, and some men of the Nigeria Police attached to Agbarha-Otor B’ division, have been arrested and detained at the Ughelli Area Command over an alleged killing of unidentified young man in Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state.
It was learned that the unidentified officers were in free for all over girl when the incident occurred few feet away from Agbarha-Otor Police Division.
According to sources, “Fight started when a police officer whose identity could not be ascertained called on the young lady going out with her man friend.
The anonymous source revealed that, the lady who refused the call of the policeman began to rain insults on him and in the process, she was slammed with hot slap.
In return, the lady’s boy friend slapped the police officer and that led to the free for all fight between some police officers and friends of the boy from the area.
Another source closed to the scene said, “The girl and her boyfriend were passing by when the police officer excused her and the boy confronted him on why he is excusing his girlfriend.
The source alleged that, “The Police officer in response, questioned the boy for challenging him and a fight broke out between them which attracted other officers at nearby and friends of the boy.
“It was now a fight between the civilian boys and the police and in the process of the fight, a Hunter officer came in, brought out a dagger and stabbed one of the boys.
“I was told the boy that was stabbed dead is from Orogun and resides here in Agbarha-Otor and he died before they could rush him to the hospital.
“The Hunter guy, the police officers that were involved in the melee have been arrested including the main officer that caused the fight and others and they are currently under detention at the Ughelli Area Command”. The source revealed.
When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright who denied the incident said, “Nothing like that.”
But senior security officer from the Delta State Police Command who confirmed the incident said, “There was a fight over an issue and the vigilante wanted to help somebody and they mistakenly stab somebody and the person died.”
