A Police Sergeant, attached to Eagle Net at the Ughelli Area Command, was on Thursday kidnapped by suspected gunmen in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state.
The is just as a couple were kidnapped on Wednesday at Ekiugbo-Ughelli before the kidnap of Sergeant Ifeanyi.
Though the report is sketchy, the police officer, simply identified as Sergeant Ifeanyi is popularly known as ‘Lion’ was kidnapped while returning from work, it was learned by politicsgovernance.com
Efforts to contact the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright was not successful as message sent to him was not replied as at the time of this report.
But sources from the Delta State Police Command, alleged that Sgt. Ifeanyi of the Eagle Net was abducted while retuning from work with unidentified Lexus Jeep belonging to one of his boss on Thursday evening of April 27, 2023.
“We did not know the exact time the incident happened but he left the station at about 21:13hrs.”
Another source alleged that his abductors contacted his wife and they are demanding for N3 million ransom to secure his release.
“The police are on the trail of the suspected kidnappers” The sources revealed.
