Nigerians are curious to know about the next move of Chief James Onanefe Ibori following an alleged meeting with his former colleague, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in an undisclosed location.
Ibori, the Odidigborigbo of Africa was the governor of Delta state while Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the governor Lagos state from 1999-2003 and they were both friends
Sources from the APC disclosed that Ibori will officially join the APC before the governorship and State Assembly election and allegation that is yet to be confirm from the camp of Odidigborigbo.
Chief James Onanefe Ibori, despite his recent travail is loved by a cross section of Nigerians and Deltans in particular because of his ‘Resource Control’ battle during his era as governor.
He single handedly fought for the reelection of Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as governor of Delta state when the sheep were down.
The Delta Unity Group, DUG, recently drum their support for the APC governorship candidate in Delta state, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in a press release.
DUG is a stronghold in Delta politics that supports Olorogun David Edevbie, the Ibori choice candidate for governor under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Chief Ibori’s daughter, Erhitake was a House of Reps Member-elect to represent Ethiope East and Ethiope West Federal constituency under the PDP during the February 25, National Assembly and Presidential elections.
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Olorogun David Edevbie are political sons to Odidigborigbo of Africa, come rain or sun and the DUG threw their support for Omo-Agege when David Edevbie could not get the governorship ticket from the PDP.
Prior to this, Ibori has received direct and indirect abuse from the Okowa administration through his Executive Assistant on Communication, EAC, Fred Latimore, Ibori Kingsman from Kokori.
“Ibori has met with Jagaban, and if all things being equal he will join the APC on Wednesday.
“You know Sen Ovie-OmoAgege is his product and Ibori contributed to his becoming the Deputy Senate President, their relationship is very intact till date.
“Ibori made Agege his Executive Assistant and when there were unverified murmuring, he appointed him a Commissioner for Special Duties, during his governorship era and the rest is history.” an APC source revealed.
Efforts to get reaction from Odidigborigbo camp was not successful as his Media Aide, Tony Eluemunor could not be contacted.
