A security guard has been shot dead by suspected armed robbers evading arrest at the early of Wednesday morning at Ekiugbo community in Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
It was gathered that the robbers were being chased by Iwhrenene community vigilante after a foiled operation.
According to a source, “The victim identified simply as Tunde was sleeping in a nearby keke when the fleeing robbers shot him dead and escaped.
“This morning, robbers attack my street and shot one of our security man to death at Panama layout, off Ekiugbo community.

They came on a mission at Iwhre-Inene but were chased down to Panama layout by Iwhre -Inene security and during the process.
“Our street security were active and the robbers noticed that the security man that was shot to death while asleep in a nearby Keke.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident to our reporter.
It was also reported that the corpse of the deceased who is said to have hail from Uduophori community in Patani local government area was quickly taken away by community leaders to forestall tension in the area.
