The Delta State Chairman of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights,CDHR, Comrade(Elder) A.P. Edariese today retracted a story wherein it was reported that the lands between Wetland hotel and NTA in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State were allegedly sold to Fulani herdsmen by some persons.
Edariese made the retraction during a chat with Our Correspondent in Warri.
According to the human right activist, emerging facts have revealed that the said parcel of land belongs to a Bonafide indigene of Urhobo land, Chief Richard Otovwievwiere,an indigene of Oviri-Olomu Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
“The earlier report concerning that parcel of land is hereby retracted.”
He said that the said parcel of land was actually not sold to Fulani herdsmen as earlier claimed.
Comrade Eadriese also noted that the land is currently being developed by the owner for market people stressing that anyone can do business there where fully completed.
Comrade Edariese however tendered an apology to anyone the earlier publication may have caused damages/injuries.
